Mtaala partners with Awegys Secondary School, committed to providing the school with proper facilities, academic resources, quality teachers, boarding supplies, electricity and water.
And we make every effort to do this as self-sustainably as possible, so that the school may operate independently for years to come.

Student sponsorship
Students work in the new science lab built by Mtaala.
Mtaala provides the opportunity for vulnerable and at-risk youth to attend Awegys by finding sponsors in the US and UK to support their education. The students eligible for sponsorship include orphans and those affected by conflict, extreme poverty and HIV. To be considered for our sponsorship program potential students must demonstrate a strong commitment to their education and be willing to give back to their communities. Special programs
Students show notebooks made in a special workshop.
In addition to the above, Mtaala provides the students at Awegys with unique opportunities beyond the ordinary school day. These include art classes, Community Reading Day, tailoring, fire & safety courses, and workshops led by visiting volunteers.
