Student Sponsorships
Students work in the new science lab built by Mtaala.
Our Student Sponsorship program provides the opportunity for needy secondary students in Uganda to attend school by finding sponsors around the world to support their education. The students eligible for sponsorships include orphans and those affected by war, HIV, and extreme poverty. These students attend our current educational partner, Awegys Secondary School in Kigo, Uganda. To be considered for our sponsorship program the students must demonstrate a strong commitment to their education and be willing to give back to their communities. Educational Partnerships

The Mtaala Foundation partners with individuals and communities in Uganda to create schools where none existed. We are committed to providing our educational partner schools with proper facilities, boarding school supplies, academic resources, quality teachers, electricity, and water. Mtaala makes every effort to do this as self- sustainably as we can, so that the schools may operate independently for years to come.
And the students at our educational partner schools are eligible to participate in our Student Sponsorship program, ensuring that the entire school community can benefit from and contribute to their improved conditions. Find out how to get involved:

Special Programs
Students show notebooks made in a special workshop.
In addition to Student Sponsorships and Educational Partnerships, the Mtaala Foundation provides the students at our partner schools with unique opportunities beyond the ordinary school day. These include art classes, Community Reading Day, tailoring, fire safety workshops, and workshops led by visiting volunteers. Find our more about our Special Programs.
